Thirty-Five...

As I posted on FB this morning, "Being 35 has stunk so far..." Man, I am having a hard time getting over this surgery (Which was the day after my 35th bday!) and it is starting to get me down. I am really about ready to have a pity party for myself! I mean an all out cry-fest! I want to be up and at it... going full force, but my body is telling me NO! I tried to go to work on Monday and made it until lunch, well really I made it until 9 and was ready to go home but stuck it out until lunch.

Today I stayed home because I had to go to the doctor for my one week post-op. He re-assured me that it was a more major surgery and it was going to take time. I am good in spurts. I will try work again tomorrow :) WE SHALL SEE!

Today I rest LOTS and did only little things that would make me feel good like sip on my favorite tea!
Have you tried this Honey Vanilla Chamomile tea yet? It is WONDERFUL! I sipped on it lots today in bed, in front of the TV, while I read blogs...

I also threw together my favorite soup...
I rest some more then mixed up some pumpkin bread for the girls for an after school snack. I love the way it smells! It lifted my spirits.
Then my Sweet Lainey came home with a letter to Santa. It is so sweet! It made me smile... One of her Christmas wishes was for me to get better... I am praying for a better tomorrow. Each day is better... I just need some patience. I really wanted to be better yesterday!

Thanksgiving 2010...

Thanksgiving 2010 was a bit of a whirlwind for me but a blessing none-the-less! My dad and Dee loaded the girls in the car on Wednesday and took them on to San Angelo for us so that I could rest. Will loaded me in the car with my blanket and pillows and we hit the road on Thanksgiving morning. The girls were able to see all their cousins and we were able to visit with LOTS of family and that is what Thanksgiving is all about about!!!

Abbey and Mills are growing up way to fast! They will both be 12 this next year. That is unbelieveable... Mason, Lainey, and Emiley always have a great time together. They hunted acorns in Mi-Ma's yard for hours.
We were teasing Shane and Will because they were both on their "fancy phones!" They are both just now becoming iPhone junkies! We told them they were probably texting each other like the teenagers do!
We enjoyed lots of good food and good company! I sure love Mi-ma's cooking even though I didnt eat much of it this year...
LOOK at those desserts... (Thank goodness Abbey was taking pictures for me! I really was laying down low in the big chair most of the time!)
I did take one picture... Not the best picture EVER. Remember I am two days post-surgery and on lots of pain meds :)
After Mi-Ma's we headed over to Molly and Paul's house. We are so thankful that my family and Will's family live in the same town so we get to spend time with both families. Abbey LOVES being around the teenage girl cousins!
Will spent lots of time playing the guitar for us. He is getting quite good...
Lainey and Wayne alway have WAY TOO MUCH FUN together! This is LOTS of nine year old trouble!
Lainey stole my phone LOTS and took alot of pictures... I rested a lot and watched a lot of movies.
We had all nine of the Hale cousins together for the first time in a VERY LONG TIME! It was so special!
I have so much to be THANKFUL for this year. My wonderful hubby, my three beautiful, talented little girls, my home, my GOD, my health, and the list goes on and on...
Happy Thanksgiving!

Whew, What a Last Few Days!...

(A picture of the girls with the Hale cousins just until I get to our Thanksgivng post!)

Well, the last few days have been a bit rough to say the least, but Yes I AM BLESSED and I have made it through and I am happy to say that things are looking up :)

On Tuesday, I had my surgery. The doctor said it was a "bit more complex" than he first thought after he got into my tummy, but now onto recovery.

I had a few rough days being sick at my stomach... thank goodness for the in "sickness and in health" part of marriage vows because I am pretty sure Will is ready to RUN. I am now feeling better and have eaten a FULL meal today for the first time since my birthday on Monday!

We did make the trip to Will's sisters and my grandmother's for a short and RELAXING Thanksgiving. I told Will's sister as we were leaving that I couldnt wait for Christmas because I didnt get to cook or bake one single thing this holiday!

I spent most of my time in the bed or on the couch at both homes but was THANKFUL to be there and glad the girls and Will got to see family, too.

Now we are home! I am resting... The girls are helping with laundry and Will is out buying groceries. Doctors orders are to take it SUPER EASY for 6 weeks! I am going to try my best! My belly button looks like a tic-tac-toe board (or what is left of it!). I now have a scar going vertical and horizontal across my tummy. Not to mention the C-section scar! WOW... so much for bikinis as if I would EVER do that again!

Thanks for all your prayers and sweet words... Things are looking up! Maybe I will start walking normal SOON. You dont realize what all you use your tummy muscles for until they have been cut into!

Birthday Weekend...

This weekend my hubby treated me to a weekend away and it was FABULOUS~ He made all the arrangements. I literally just got in the car! I know where we were going but past that I didnt know much! I didnt really even ask. I arranged for his parents to come keep the kids for the weekend, he got the room, he decided where we were going, and I will say it again... I was AMAZING! We went to Gruene Hall to watch his BFF (Seth James) from high school play Friday night. I am serious when I say I didnt ask about the plans nor did Will tell me about the weekend because as we were pulling into town Shane and Dannielle called and asked where we were. They were in town waiting for us!!! How FUN! They had planned to come spend the weekend with us, too! Me and Dannielle... Shane and Will and Seth were big buddies in high school! Dannielle and I are just friends now because of our hubbies :)
We really enjoyed listening to Seth and Jessica... How cool that they this hubby and wife duo can sing together. After the concert I discussed how I would NEVER be singing but I would LOVE to be able to sing like that. They are AMAZING! They also jammed a bit with Cody Canada.

Seth and Cody! They are so good... super talented.

This weekend was also the Christmas festival in Gruene so on Saturday we enjoyed lots of arts and crafts, a wine tasting, lots of shopping, good eating at the Gristmill, and even some shopping at the outlet mall down the road! Our other GREAT friends from H-town, Brandon and Bridgette joined us on Saturday for the rest of the weekend. It was fabulous, wonderful, grand... all wrapped up into a weekend.
Thanks Babe, for a great Birthday weekend!
I still remember when we spent my 20th birthday together... 15 short years ago! Of course that night ended by you and your buddies throwing me in the GATA fountain!

Thursday Thoughts...

Let's pack it all into a Thursday Thoughts List why dont we!!!

1. A few weeks ago I bought Abbey this super cute Christmas T-Shirt, "Santa's Favorite Blonde!" She has been begging to wear it! I finally gave in today and let her wear it. Isn't it cute? 2. I had to let her wear it since I have already put up most of our Christmas decorations. I wanted to get them up before my surgery next Tuesday. I new I would be down for a while and not able to left for 6 weeks so I wanted to get the furniture re-arranged and the Christmas decor in order before hand. We were in this SAME SITUATION last year and Will had to help with the Christmas decorating. I wanted to do it early so that I would JUST BE DONE!!!!

3. Poor little Lainey has been sick. She is also a puker and has thrown up two nights this week. I stayed home with her on Wednesday... That is how I was able to clean house and get the Christmas decorations out! Miss Em. was sick once on Tuesday night but I was in bed at 7:00 with a migraine and didnt even hear her be sick. Will and Abbey took care of her. Looking back... This is a week I am ready to get past us!
4. Miss Emiley made the most adorable turkey book at school this week! Isnt it cute?? Inside of it it has all sorts of things she is thankful for... I LOVE IT!!!

5. One of the things Miss Em. listed was God and Jesus! Melts my heart!!!
6. Speaking of God and Jesus... Last night at church while we were practicing the Christmas play, someone came into the back of our church (through the kitchen) and stole a lady's purse off a table! YEP! While we were in the church! We had to call the police and do a police report... The policeman was so kind and searched the area and found the purse in a nearby dumpster. The only thing missing was about $50. Thank Goodness... Very Scary!

7. Hubby and I are headed off to Gruene this weekend for my birthday! I am ready to hear Seth James and Roger Creager, eat at the Gristmill, maybe sleep late, maybe do a little shopping, and hang out with some of our best friends! I cant wait to have a weekend away. We are thankful for grandparents who are coming to keep the girls!
8. Yep, Surgery day is looming. NOT looking forward to tummy surgery #6! 3 C-sections, a hysterectomy, and one hernia repair already make for a tic-tac-toe looking tummy... Just pray that I handle the anthesia better than usual.

9. Thanksgiving is coming!!! I LOVE THANKSGVING! I hope I feel like traveling to see our family after my surgery.

10. GO BULLDOGS GO! Our team is playing in the AREA Playoff game this Saturday! GO DOGS! We're Behind Ya Rootin' For Ya!

Rock-N-Roll Weekend (Full Version)...

This past weekend we headed down to San Antonio for the Rock-N-Roll San Antonio Marathon. We usually dont take the kids on race weekends, but we were seeing lots of family along the way so we took the kids this time! Our first stop was Aunt Sue's house were we spent Saturday night. I was too busy relaxing and didnt take a single picture! The girls took a picture one my phone of Abbey and DD the spoiled little dog. We were just like the spoiled rotten dog when we left because we were treated to a great meal, hot apple cider, comfy beds, LEGOs and all the things the girls and I love about going to Aunt Sue's. We got up at 4:00 am and headed downtown to meet up with JJ and Rebecca to catch the shuttle to get to the starting line. The girls were troopers! They didnt complain ONE.TIME! Aunt Sue sent us out the door with boiled eggs, cinnamon rolls, juice, milk, and pineapple! We got to the AT&T Center and got the shuttle and headed for the race. At the corrals we met up with cousin #3, Vanessa! What fun to get to see so much family. We had all planned on doing this race together. It was the first 1/2 marathon for JJ and Rebecca!
Vanessa was in corral #12 so we sent her on her way and JJ, Rebecca, and I hung out til the race began. Abbey was our official photographer! She got some great shots! YAY ABBEY!!! We FINISHED! Great Job cousins!!! We didnt get a finishing shot with Vanessa. I texted her after the race and she said she was headed to the hotel because she was freezing cold! It was a bit chilly :)
We then quickly caught the shuttle and jumped on I35 to head to Austin to watch some ACU soccer in the Championship game. Abbey has been wanting to go watch them play all year. We got there just in time for the 1:00 game! We all LOVED watching them play in an AWESOME game. ACU got beat in double overtime and penalty shots. It was a tough loss to watch.
We then headed down Congress Ave. to Guero's Taco Bar for some fish tacos to top off our day! It was a GREAT DAY!! The girls slept all the way home! They were pooped!

Friday Favorites...

This week my Friday Favorite is this little CUTIE I got at Queen B's (a darling little "junk" shop in our town) a few weekends ago! I just LOVE it! This little sign has my two favorite colors in it, red and turquoise, and I have it placed just perfectly in my kitchen window... I just "heart" it and it makes me smile EVERY.SINGLE.DAY!

Now its off to San Antonio for a 1/2 marathon! Wish us luck!

Happy Weekend!

Gather Your Robe and Rod...

We are getting ready for our Christmas play at our little church! The girls are a little excited. Miss Em is a shepherd. I think she will be a pretty cute shepherd :) Abbey Grace is playing the part of Mary and Lainey is a sheep. Lainey designed the sheep's tutu's and even help make them the other night at our costume workday!

There are going to be lots of cute kids on December 15th!
