Weekend, Why Do You Have To Go So Fast?

Man, the weekends seem to speed by so quickly! I truly hate it! I guess when you have 1,589 things going in one weekend you cant expect much more than for them to pass at lightning speed. Will ran in another 1/2 marathon this weekend. (Yes, I really need to get back on the running bandwagon! I am up to about 4 miles but not at 13.1 again... YET!) He and all the others did a great job and in the Cowtown Marathon and 1/2 marathon! I {heart} Fort Worth and miss our time when we lived there! Abbey and her little "select" basketball team were in another tournament this weekend. They came out in 2nd place, taking only one lose to the other Hamilton team which is a 6th grade team. I am again ONE.PROUD.MOMMA!
Friday night Poppy was able to come watch Abbey play and spend the night for her Saturday morning game! We were able to escape for a great dinner at Circle T after some Friday night basketball. The girls always love when their Poppy is able to come!
Miss Em is still a HUGE daddy's girl! They shared a big 'ole Texas steak for dinner Friday night!

Then on Saturday around lunch EE and Papa Jim arrived into town to keep the little darlings while we headed to Fort Worth. (Yep, the pictures from the last time they were in town but I didnt get any pictures from this visit!) They took Abbey Grace to her last game of the tournament and then they headed over to Uncle Chad's for a birthday celebration dinner! I heard there were also lots of time at the park, kick ball time, and lots of playing in the creek on Sunday!
Papa Jim and EE have also planned a camping trip for the girls over Spring Break. These pictures are of the girls getting the "packet" of all the things planned on their little excursion!
They are all just a LITTLE excited!!
Well, we are back to Monday! We are all just a little tired from the weekend but completely blessed by our time with family and friends!
Happy Monday!

Champs!...

Tonight was the Championship game for the first tournament that Abbey's "select" basketball team had entered. We were dressed and ready for the game in our team's attire! I LOVE our team's shirts!! The have the roster on the back. Go #4!

My Abbey Grace is growing up too fast. Have I told you we wear the same size shoe?!?

Well, the Lady Bulldog 5th grade team win the tournament! We beat two 6th grade teams. I am so proud of these girls! It is really hard for me to believe they are so big. I still picture them in preschool together. GREAT job girls!!!

Top Ten Excuses!...

Here are my TOP TEN excuses as to why I have not blogged since last Friday! Yes, they are mainly for my parents and for Aunt Vi!

1. BASKETBALL, BASKETBALL, BASKETBALL! All three girls played basketball this year and were on different teams in different age divisions. Saturday was the last day of the games. We had 5 gamesin one day! YEP! It keeps us busy!

2. BASKETBALL, BASKETBALL, BASKETBALL! Since the girls were on different teams they have had practice every night of the week at different times... Makes me soak in the nights we have at home which are not very many... if any during the week.

3. BASKETBALL, BASKETBALL, BASKETBALL! Yes, I realize that this is the same excuse, but Abbey is now playing on a "Select" Tournament team and it has already begun. It actually started before the regular season even ended. Her first tournament started last night and it is out of town. THEY WON!!! Abbey's team is made up of all 5th grade girls and they beat a 6th grade girls team! So proud!!! They play again on Thursday night, have practice tonight and then begin another tournament on Friday. BUSY!!!! 4. MARATHON and MARATHON! Will ran the Austin Marathon last weekend. It was fun to get away for the night and Sunday morning to go with him! Sorry no pictures. I have lost my brain and picture taking ambition in the craziness!

5. Oh yes, MARATHON! We are headed to Fort Worth this weekend for the Cowtown Marathon. My mom and Papa Jim are coming to keep the three princesses that keep us so busy!

6. Excuse #6 is just WORK! Yep, WORK is busy enough with middle of the year testing behind us at school and the TAKS test on the horizon and TAX season cranking up for Will things are CRAZY at the Hale Household.

7. The girls planted a small garden as part of one of Abbey's school projects. Excuse #7! Projects and Homework running out our ears!

8. Laundry, dishes, housework! Thank goodness we work together and get it all done :)

9. I NEED MY SLEEP!!!!

10. Excuse #10... I must keep watching Biggest Loser when I have a spare second!

Happy Hump Day!

Yummy Goodness...

Valentine's Day cannot happen around the Hale Household without making LOTS of yummy snacks for the girls' classes at school. Of course, each girl chose to take something different to share with their class on Valentine's Day. Lainey wanted to make Red Velvet Cake Mix Cookies!
So that is just what we did and we topped them with cream cheese icing and red and white sprinkles!
Miss Em wanted white cake cupcakes with pink icing and spinkles!
Easy enough! Emiley topped them with a simple candy heart and once again... COMPLETE!
Abbey Grace wanted to take pink popcorn balls for her class!
We put daddy to work on this one since he is the one that taught us to make popcorn balls to begin with. It is really a bowl full of yummy-ness!!
WOW! So fun and so good!
Valentine's Day and parties were all a success!

Thoughtless Thoughts on Thursday...

1j. I love Sonic unsweet tea. I really enjoyed it today after school!

2. My crockpot has saved supper so many times this winter especially with this super cold weather. Tonight we are having chili served up from Mr. Crockpot.

3. I almost caught my favorite turquoise scarf on fire while cooking the ground meat for the chili. NOT.GOOD!

4. I ran twice this week! Ya-Hoo...

5. I love making banana bread for the girls teachers.

6. I got banana bread dough all over my favorite turquoise scarf!

7. The girls ordered adorable Valentines cards on-line last week while we were snowed in. I can't wait to share them with you on Monday!

8. I LOVE craisins and they are my favorite snack at school right now!

9. Rice Chex and corn Chex are gluten free and they are my new favorite breakfast! I also LOVE the cinnamon Chex!

10. I hear it is going to be in the 60's next week. That makes me super excited! I hope to pull out my flip flops at Spring Break :)

Children...

I Love kids! I guess that is why I became a teacher. Before the "Blizzard of 2011," we celebrated the 100th Day of school in my 1st grade classroom. In our 100th Day of School Book one of the things the kids were asked is "If you had a $100 what would you buy?"... The answers are so different! Enjoy!
Yes, I LOVE Polly Pockets, too! I use to play with them with the girls during church when they were little...
Oh and Skittles are the BEST~~~
And yes, $100 would buy a great pet! I think we got our Jack for $100! And all first graders are loving penguins right now. That is our GREAT math unit! But this answer made me cry! WOW! The kids in my room all have such different needs. They all come from different homes. I LOVE them all!

This week's verse in Praying God's Word is all about CHILDREN!
3 John 1:4, "I could have no greater joy than to hear that my children are following the truth."
That is my prayer for my chilren. My three girls mean the world to me. I want them to know GOD, their creator, their heavenly Father, I want Him to be their ALL in ALL! I want them to follow in His truths... I pray that all children are able to follow in His Light! I pray that all children could know GOD. If only I could buy that for $100!

Redneck Sledding {Take 2}...

You may remember last Christmas when we tied a tarp to the back of the lawn mower and had a little sledding around the property?!?... Well, the girls didnt think we could let the snow spell go without taking a spin of lawn mower sledding again! We didnt have a tarp or a pallet so Daddy just got a feed sack and it worked just the same! We had basketball games on Saturday morning so some of the snow had melted before we had a chance to take a spin at the sledding but it still was LOTS of FUN!!! We took full advantage of every second of the snow...We were thankful for the sunshine of Saturday and that the temperatures were warming up. YAY! It was not so bitter cold!
The snow melted away quickly...
But it gave us lots of good memories this week!
And gave us a chance to go sledding again this year! Until next time...

Friday Favorites...

Well, Like the rest of Texas {America} this week we have been snowed in! We attended school on Monday in the 60 degree temps and then have been at home in 15 degree temps with windchills in the range of 5 the rest of the week. The first three days of our "shut in" was mainly due to ICE... Then this morning we were welcomed with a couple of inches of beautiful SNOW! So of course that has to be my FRIDAY FAVORITE!
I won't really complain too much about being at home either exact that we haven't had running water since Tuesday. We have been hauling water in gallon jugs to drink and flush the toilets. We are feeling a little "Little House on the Prairie" but its not that bad.
Abbey has been doing some reading and we have been VERY LAZY! And we LOVE.IT!
We are not TOO.CRAZY about the low temps but the scenery is sure beautiful!
We have done lots of cooking some yummy food but we cant wash the dishes so last night we did order some pizza and we have been eating on paper plate and drinking about of blue Solo cups!
Here is an example of the ICE! Poor shrubs!
But what a beautiful sight!!!!
I am thankful for our little Winter Break!
Happy Weekend!
