Thursday, THURSDAY!...

Wow! This Thursday is one for the record books. All the kids were a bit crazy at school and I am glad it is over. I think it was a combination of the week full of testing and being off schedule and spring fever beginning to set in! I can just say I am glad that this Thursday is OVER as far as school is concerned!

My Thursday's posts are usually in numbered form so I will keep the tradition up! It seems that is the only way my brain is functioning today. I left my desk with three different lists on it!

1. I truly cant believe that Sunday is MAY. Time is flying by. Our calendar is FULL with activities for school and softball and trips! I love this time of year but my head is spinning just thinking about it all! I cant wait to see all our friends and family we have plans with over the next month or so.

2. Lainey's Easter dress has a dress to match her American Girl doll Lanie... So precious! I need to get a better picture next time they are dressed up!
3. Speaking of a camera I have been wanting a GOOD camera for awhile but have been putting it off because I dont know what to get... ANY SUGGESTIONS???

4. The Easter Bunny brought these fun little sleeping eye coverlets. How fun! Miss Em really slept in hers the other night. She has always been a good sleepers. I think she put it on and fell asleep and never knew the difference. Abbey and Lainey really WANT to be able to sleep in their but JUST.CANT.DO.IT!
5. I am still eating Gluten-Free. I am trying more and more recipes with the rice flour. I made my sister in laws chocolate pudding cake with this baking mix instead of flour the other night and it was pretty good! We eat lots of meats, fruits and veggies. I miss things like regular crackers and Triscuits the MOST! I occasionally have a Triscuit or something and get a bit sick and know this is FOR REAL!!! I have lost about 30 pounds and feel good. No more tummy trouble except when I dont eat right... Crazy Stuff!
6. MY HUBBY IS AWESOME! The other night I went out with my girlfriends for a little mommy time. He kept our girls and a friends two so she could come. The girls ended up sleeping over!!! They had a pancake breakfast made by Will the next morning! Oh yes, and Will has made the TAKS breakfasts this week... Abbey and Lainey requested pancakes and breakfast tacos to help them do their best on the test!
7. Abbey's softball is keeping us busy! She has a game tonight and another one tomorrow night :)

8. Cowgirl moved her sweet kitties the other night during one of our storms. We cant find them now. Either she moved them or something horrible happened to them... They were so cute.
9. We have lots of hummingbirds buzzing around our feeders. I LOVE this time of year!

10. I finally found some new bushes/flowering shrubs for my front flower bed. They are just what I was looking for! They are suppose to attract hummingbirds and butterflies and not attract deer. I am hoping the horses stay out of them, too!

I have so many thoughts running through my head but I think I will stop now!

Dinner on the Grounds...

When I was growing up every time we would have lunch after Sunday morning church we would call it "Dinner on the grounds." Well, the Sunday before Easter our little church had a real "dinner on the grounds! Our little church recently purchased the lot behind our little church building. It is a vacant lot that has an old rock structure and some beautiful trees. Many of our members gave of their time to clean up the lots so that we could have a picnic and Easter egg hunt on this Sunday after church. The kids LOVED it! My Abbey is getting so big and LOVES helping with some of the babies!
Emiley ate her lunch at the smaller kids table! It is so sweet to see them all mingle with each other!
I LOVE church potlucks and so do my girls!
Then it was time for the Easter egg hunting. There were so many eggs. Every kid had a FULL BASKET!
Lainey Girl stopped and posed for me!
Abbey hit the eggs for the little girls and hunted for a few eggs! She didnt want to miss out on all the candy! I even made her pose with her Easter basket. I cant let her grow up just yet!

Friday Favorites...

This edition of my Friday Favorites if all about Black and White! Another suggestion my cousin had for my house "re-do" was to pull the black and white from the living room into my kitchen. She had some suggestions on where to add the black and white and I finally had some time to add it!

One suggestion was to change the fabric in this antique radio that works as a microwave stand to black and white. DONE! And it was so easy!
She then suggested adding a border of black and white fabric to my red curtains to the kitchen window and to the little window by my computer area! DONE! Now this one I didnt do myself because I am not a seamstress but I took them and had them done in just a week's time!
Then I found this little cute picture on CLEARANCE!!!
And I added a towel!!
LOVE them all!!!

Happy EASTER Weekend!

Christ HAS RISEN!!

The Special Gift...

Lainey's teacher just bought a new house.

I think sometime in the process of her teacher talking about her new house, she must have mentioned that she wanted a new birdhouse for her new house.

So of course Lainey thought she MUST give Mrs. Jordan a new birdhouse!
Now this birdhouse couldn't just be one that we bought at the store. It had to be homemade! Lainey found the perfect piece of wood all by herself out in the shop. Then she measured the piece of wood with her Nintendo DS. Her daddy did help her really measure the wood with a measuring tape. {The worse part in making the birdhouse was waiting until tax season was over so daddy had time to help Lainey with the birdhouse!}
My job was to help Lainey pick out the perfect color of paint, even though she already really know exactly what she wanted it to look like!
Then my little artist added some bluebonnets to the birdhouse to make it EXTRA special for her EXTRA special teacher!
Finally, the birdhouse was complete and she was able to deliver it to her teacher! She was so excited to give it to Mrs. Jordan and Mrs. Jordan was excited to receive it!

Weekend Race...

Will had a race in Waco this weekend so the girls and I took off with him! It was so good to be away as a family. It seemed like it had been SO LONG since we had gotten away just the 5 of us. We were care-free, too since tax season is now OVER! After Will picked up his race packet and we checked into the hotel we stopped off for some sushi. It was the girls first sushi experience! We ordered three different rolls for them to try.
They were VERY.EXCITED!
Abbey LOVED it and was very good at the chopsticks!
The little two girls (Yes, I still call them the little two girls even though they are 8 and 9!) were not very impressed! We then headed over to Ninfa's for Mexican food and our "REAL" dinner. When we got back to the hotel, the girls even got the swim a bit. They kept saying this is the best weekend EVER!!!
Saturday was race day for Will. He did a 20K trail run in the Xterra Trail Run Series. He finished 2nd in his age group!
After the race we were off for more Ninfa's with the other racers and their families!
It was a GREAT weekend and much needed family time!

Honduras Love

We sponsor a little boy in Honduras through Compassion International! We chose to sponsor a child in Honduras because it was a country that we had visited and seen the poverty first hand and because our church sponsors a missionary there as well. We have a love for Honduras! We LOVE when we get letters from our sponsor child.

Our sponsor child is a boy who is 10 years old. The girls love to hear that he also loves soccer, church and God. They realize they all have something in common even though the majority of our lives are so different.

The girls LOVE writing letters and drawing pictures to send back to Honduras. What a blessing to share this letter relationship with this sweet little boy! God is so good and teaches us so much even in the little things.
