Thoughtless Thoughts on Thursday...

1j. I love Sonic unsweet tea. I really enjoyed it today after school!

2. My crockpot has saved supper so many times this winter especially with this super cold weather. Tonight we are having chili served up from Mr. Crockpot.

3. I almost caught my favorite turquoise scarf on fire while cooking the ground meat for the chili. NOT.GOOD!

4. I ran twice this week! Ya-Hoo...

5. I love making banana bread for the girls teachers.

6. I got banana bread dough all over my favorite turquoise scarf!

7. The girls ordered adorable Valentines cards on-line last week while we were snowed in. I can't wait to share them with you on Monday!

8. I LOVE craisins and they are my favorite snack at school right now!

9. Rice Chex and corn Chex are gluten free and they are my new favorite breakfast! I also LOVE the cinnamon Chex!

10. I hear it is going to be in the 60's next week. That makes me super excited! I hope to pull out my flip flops at Spring Break :)

Children...

I Love kids! I guess that is why I became a teacher. Before the "Blizzard of 2011," we celebrated the 100th Day of school in my 1st grade classroom. In our 100th Day of School Book one of the things the kids were asked is "If you had a $100 what would you buy?"... The answers are so different! Enjoy!
Yes, I LOVE Polly Pockets, too! I use to play with them with the girls during church when they were little...
Oh and Skittles are the BEST~~~
And yes, $100 would buy a great pet! I think we got our Jack for $100! And all first graders are loving penguins right now. That is our GREAT math unit! But this answer made me cry! WOW! The kids in my room all have such different needs. They all come from different homes. I LOVE them all!

This week's verse in Praying God's Word is all about CHILDREN!
3 John 1:4, "I could have no greater joy than to hear that my children are following the truth."
That is my prayer for my chilren. My three girls mean the world to me. I want them to know GOD, their creator, their heavenly Father, I want Him to be their ALL in ALL! I want them to follow in His truths... I pray that all children are able to follow in His Light! I pray that all children could know GOD. If only I could buy that for $100!

Redneck Sledding {Take 2}...

You may remember last Christmas when we tied a tarp to the back of the lawn mower and had a little sledding around the property?!?... Well, the girls didnt think we could let the snow spell go without taking a spin of lawn mower sledding again! We didnt have a tarp or a pallet so Daddy just got a feed sack and it worked just the same! We had basketball games on Saturday morning so some of the snow had melted before we had a chance to take a spin at the sledding but it still was LOTS of FUN!!! We took full advantage of every second of the snow...We were thankful for the sunshine of Saturday and that the temperatures were warming up. YAY! It was not so bitter cold!
The snow melted away quickly...
But it gave us lots of good memories this week!
And gave us a chance to go sledding again this year! Until next time...

Friday Favorites...

Well, Like the rest of Texas {America} this week we have been snowed in! We attended school on Monday in the 60 degree temps and then have been at home in 15 degree temps with windchills in the range of 5 the rest of the week. The first three days of our "shut in" was mainly due to ICE... Then this morning we were welcomed with a couple of inches of beautiful SNOW! So of course that has to be my FRIDAY FAVORITE!
I won't really complain too much about being at home either exact that we haven't had running water since Tuesday. We have been hauling water in gallon jugs to drink and flush the toilets. We are feeling a little "Little House on the Prairie" but its not that bad.
Abbey has been doing some reading and we have been VERY LAZY! And we LOVE.IT!
We are not TOO.CRAZY about the low temps but the scenery is sure beautiful!
We have done lots of cooking some yummy food but we cant wash the dishes so last night we did order some pizza and we have been eating on paper plate and drinking about of blue Solo cups!
Here is an example of the ICE! Poor shrubs!
But what a beautiful sight!!!!
I am thankful for our little Winter Break!
Happy Weekend!

Burdens...

It is confession time. I am a worrier. People who know me well, know that about me! I am able to follow through with Galatians 6:2, "Bear one another's burdens." I can worry for you and worry for me. I am able to help others and pray for others! I find myself praying and worrying about people I hardly know. Do I think this is a fault... NO! It is who I am! I feel deep concern for others so much that I often dont take care of the deep concern of myself. I think that has caused me to come to the point that I am at now. I feel broken and I feel guilty about it. Should I feel the need to care for my own burdens? Do I express my own burdens? Do I pray for my own burdens or do I keep them bottled up and only care for the burdens of others?

I think for a long time I felt as though I was being selfish if I prayed for my personal emotional needs. I didnt mind praying for others who asked me to pray for them but I never asked God to help ME! I also never broke down and asked others to pray for me either. It has gotten me to the state of brokeness which is right where God needs me so that he can do His work in me.

I have been "blog stalking" this blog for some time! She is "hosting" PRAYING GOD's WORD ONE WEEK @ A TIME and it is just what I need in this season of my life! She is praying for herself, her husband, her children, her household, etc through scripture. I need to be broken down through my burdens so that I can be built back up! God is telling me it is OK to take care of me. It is OK to take care of others but I need to take care of me and pray for ME, too... I am joining her in week four. I will add in weeks 1-3 piece by piece. It is so good and will be an encouragement to me just when I need it most.

Today God gave us some snow, or mainly ice! The girls have played in it for a few minutes but the temperatures are in the teens. Miss Em was really worried about the animals. She wanted to warm Jasper (the horse) up with my hairdryer!) She found this really big icicle when she was outside. The girls all looked super cute in the Peru hats! I think they wore them more inside than they did outside. We sure enjoyed our day home from school though!
This weeks scriptures are all about the wife. How appropriate! I need to work on being a better wife to my wonderful, hard working husband.
Hebrews 10:24, "And let us consider how we may spur one another one toward love and good deeds."
Proverbs 21:9, "It's better to live alone in the corner of an attic than with a quarrelson wife in a lovely home."

Join the journey if you wish or pray for me as I learn to pray for myself without the guilt of putting myself in the picture of my prayer life.
